Mango & Melochia Blossom Honey — Hawaii's Most Unexpected Pairing
Sometimes nature makes the best decisions. On the Big Island of Hawaii, our mango trees grow in such close proximity to melochia bushes that when we set the hives down, the bees simply can't choose — they forage from both. The result is a rare bi-floral honey that you won't find anywhere else.
This isn't a blended honey. It's a naturally occurring dual-pollen harvest, shaped entirely by the landscape of the Big Island.
How Does It Taste?
Medium-dark amber with a rich, deep caramel flavor that lingers beautifully. This is unambiguously a coffee lover's honey — bold, warm, and complex. Think Affogato and Frangelico, not black tea and peppermint. It has the kind of depth that makes you slow down and pay attention.
Best Pairings
- Espresso or cold brew — stir in as a natural sweetener that adds flavor, not just sweetness
- Affogato — drizzle over vanilla gelato with a shot of espresso for something extraordinary
- Tiramisu — a natural complement to the mascarpone and coffee notes
- Dark chocolate — the caramel depth plays beautifully against bittersweet cocoa
- Aged gouda or manchego — rich cheese meets rich honey
